Eagles post 33 points in 4th quarter in 76-65 win

Avella scored 33 points in the final quarter Friday night as the Eagles rallied for a 76-65 Section 2-A victory over visiting Mapletown.

The Eagles (2-1, 3-7) rallied from a 54-43 deficit after three quarters by outscoring the Maples in the fourth quarter, 33-11.

Mapletown (0-4, 0-9) led 17-11 after the first quarter and 34-22 at halftime.

Lance Stevenson led the Maples with 19 points. Chuck Lash (18), Ryan Tuttle (11), and Matthew Atwood (11) also scored in double figures.

Tyler Cerciello scored a game-high 23 points for the Eagles. Donovan Avolio finished with 16 and Owen English added 15.
