Lady Pioneers clinch another section crown
West Greene clinched another section title Wednesday afternoon with a doubleheader sweep of visiting Avella.
The Lady Pioneers won the first game in five innings, 14-0, and the second game in three innings, 15-0.
Jade Renner struck out three and walked one in three innings, and combined with Kylie Meek for a one-hitter. Meek struck out five in two innings.
Madison Lampe, McKenna Lampe and Kaitlyn Rizor all doubled in the first game. Mackenzie Carpenter drove in four runs.
Rizor allowed only one hit and struck out four in the second game.
Madison Lampe belted a two-run home run in the first inning of the second game. She finished 3-for-3 with three RBI.
McKenna Lampe doubled and tripled, and scored three runs. Brianna Goodwin, Rizor and Hannah Pettit all drove in two runs.
