Raiders defeat visiting McGuffey, 5-1
Luke Robinson struck out 11 and belted a home run to lead Waynesburg Central to a 5-1 Section 3-AAA victory Friday afternoon over visiting McGuffey.
Robinson also doubled, drove in two runs and scored once for the Raiders (7-3, 8-4).
Shawn Miller also hit a home run for Waynesburg, driving in two runs and scoring one. Tyler Switalski went 3-for-3 with two runs scored.
The Raiders scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning and the difference stood until the Highlanders (7-3, 8-5) scored their lone run in the top of the fourth inning.
Waynesburg pulled away with three runs in the bottom of the fifth.
