Pioneers breeze to 20-0 win over Mapletown
West Greene didn’t leave any runners on base in a 20-0, three-inning Section 2-A victory Tuesday afternoon over the visiting Maples.
West Greene had 11 hits and received nine walks, and every Pioneer that reached base scored.
The Pioneers (7-5, 11-7) scored 16 runs in the bottom of the first and four more in the second.
Corey Wise was the winning pitcher and tripled. Joe Reed doubled for the Pioneers.
Matt Atwood took the loss for the Maples (1-10, 1-13).
Mapletown travels to Geibel Catholic this afternoon for the completion of a suspended game with the Maples leading 11-1 in the bottom of the first inning.
