Rohanna moves into top-20 finish

Rachel Rohanna dropped three strokes in the second round and continued her improved play by paring three more strokes in Friday’s final round to pull into a tie for 15th place.

The Waynesburg Central graduate shot 3-under 69 in the Symetra Classic to finish with a three day total of even-par 216. Rohanna won $2,725 for her efforts.

Leona Maguire won the tournament after shooting 5-under 67 in the final round for a three-day total of 10-under 206. Her winning share of the purse was $26,250.

Rohanna had two birdies on the front nine, another on the back and 15 pars in the final round. The final round was her lone bogey-free 18 holes. Rohanna had four bogeys in each of the first two rounds.

She hit 14-of-18 greens in regulation for the second round in a row. Rohanna needed 29 putts to complete the round after 34 and 32 in the first two rounds.

Rohanna is scheduled to next play in the Zimmer Biomet Championship hosted by Nancy Lopez in Auburn, Ala., on May 23-26. The inaugural event on the Symetra Tour at the Lake Course at Grand National (RTJ Golf Trail) has a purse of $300,000.
