Lady Pioneers fall at Avella, 3-1
West Greene tied the Section 2-A match Tuesday night in the second set, but Avella won the next two for a 3-1 opening victory.
The Lady Eagles won the first set, 26-24, but West Greene rallied in the second set, 25-22.
Avella secured the section-opening win by taking the next two sets, 25-19, 25-15.
Jersey Wise was strong for the Lady Pioneers with 48 digs. Paige Rutan finished with five kills and Elizabeth Brudnock had two aces.
