Dellarose nets four goals in Brownsville’s 5-3 win

The Section 3-AA match Monday night featured a couple prolific scorers and the players didn’t disappoint with Brownsville holding off visiting Waynesburg Central, 5-3.

Both team now sport 3-3 section records and overall marks of 5-3.

The Lady Falcons’ Tessa Dellarose scored four goals, two in each half. Talia Dellarose scored the fifth goal for Brownsville.

Rhea Kijowski spotted the visitors a 1-0 lead at 28:36, but Tessa Dellarose responded about a minute later to tie the match. She scored at 13:44 to give the home team a 2-1 lead.

Talie Dellarose extended the lead at 37:53 and Tessa Dellarose made the score 4-1 at 35:44.

The Lady Raiders responded with goals from Jillian Kijowski, on a penalty kick, and Brenna Benke to close the gap to 4-3. However, Tessa Dellarose scored an insurance gola at 17:33 for the key section victory.

Kami Franks made 12 saves to preserve the win. Waynesburg’s McKenzie Booth had seven saves.
