Wreaths Across America event to be held at Laurel Point Cemetery in Carmichaels
Carmichaels WomenÄ¢¹½ÊÓƵ Civic Club will host a Wreaths Across America event honor veterans buried at Laurel Point Cemetery in Carmichaels at noon on Saturday, Dec. 17.
Eight ceremonial wreaths will be placed near the monument to remember those who served, honor their sacrifices, and teach the younger generations about the high cost of our freedoms. This year, club members and volunteers will lay 360 wreaths, one on the grave of each veteran buried at the cemetery.
The American Legion Post 400 Honor Guard will be participating in the wreath laying ceremony. The postÄ¢¹½ÊÓƵ band, under the direction of Frank Ricco, will begin playing military selections at 11:30 a.m. near the monument at the cemetery.
Ricco will serve as master of ceremonies and Eric N. Lundblom, readjustment counseling therapist from the Pittsburgh Vet Center, will be the guest speaker. The public is invited to attend.
This is the 12th year the club has participated in WAA.
