Carmichaels Area Women’s Civic Club names October Girl of the Month
Alayna Simon, a senior at Carmichaels Area Junior/Senior High School was named OctoberÄ¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Girl of the Month by the Carmichaels Area WomenÄ¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Civic Club
Simon is a member of the National Honor Society, student council, Students Against Destructive Decisions, Spanish club, chess club and media production. She is also the senior yearbook editor, vice president of the senior class and treasurer of Students in Action, and a member of varsity basketball and softball teams, and the captain of the cross country team.
Outside of school, Simon volunteers at the food bank, blood drives and Ten Mile Park Community Clean Up. She also played in the Budd Grebb Basketball League, and is a member of St. Matthias Parish.
Her future plans are to attend a four-year program in college and major in forensic science. She would like to pursue an MD and doctorate dual-degree program to become a medical examiner.
Simon is the daughter of James Wamsley and Kimberly Simon-Pratt.
