James R. Hines Sr.
James Richard Hines Sr., 93, of Monongahela, formerly of Crucible and Palmyra, went to be with his loving wife, Virginia, and the Lord on Tuesday, October 31, 2023.
He was a graduate of Beth Center High School and worked as a steel-worker for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel.
He was married to Virginia Ruth McConnell for over 56 years before her passing on May 21, 2008.
Originally from Denbo, 鈥淛im鈥� enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most of all, growing flowers and vegetables. For years Jim brought great pleasure to his friends at the Palmview Apartments in Palmyra, decorating the complex every summer with the flowers he grew from seed.
Surviving Jim are his daughter, Deborah L. (Dave) Ashton of Monongahela; sons, James Hines Jr. of Carmichaels and John T. (Amy) Hines of Palmyra; three grandchildren, Danelle Jordan, Alexis King and Matthew T Hines.
