Mary Andrenok Svoboda Garrison, of Dilliner (Moffit-Sterling), died Sunday, October 8, 2023, one month shy of her 99th birthday. Born November 2, 1924, in Woodside, she was a daughter of the late Elek and Julia Chorba Andrenok.

Over the years, Mary had worked at the Carmichaels shoe factory, in housekeeping at the former Curry Home in Waynesburg, and as a cook at JimmieÄ¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Place in Dilliner.

A loving mother, grandmother and aunt, she welcomed all to her home, greeting them with a warm smile, loving hospitality, and a wonderful home-cooked meal.

Surviving is her daughter, Betty Morrison and husband Art of Wexford; four grandchildren, Kim, Jeff, Mark and Tabitha and their families; a niece, Josie Kurilko Konrad; and a nephew, Mike Andrenok.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Joseph Svoboda; her son, Robert Svoboda; her daughter, Joanna Bate and husband Ralph; brothers, John and Mike Andrenok; and sisters, Anna Sciulli and Julia Kurilko.

Friends were received from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, October 12, in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, where visitation continues from 9 until the 10 a.m. hour of a blessing service Friday, October 13, with the Rev. Fr. Anthony Klimko officiating. Interment follows in Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion.
