Rockets fly by Bulldogs; Mikes top Maples
Jefferson-Morgan built a 29-0 halftime lead on its way to a 42-8 victory at Beth-Center in Tri-County South Conference football action on Friday night.
Colin Bisceglia spotted the Rockets (1-1, 2-3) the lead midway through the first quarter on a 16-yard touchdown run. Bisceglia finished with 115 yards rushing on nine carries.
Deakyn Dehoet then scored three of the next four touchdowns for Jefferson-Morgan on a 50-yard pass from Houston Guseman and 5-yard run in the second quarter, and a 44-yard scoring reception from Guseman in the third quarter.
John Woodward’s 6-yard touchdown run and Dehoet’s two-point conversion gave the Rockets a 36-0 lead after three quarters. Dehoet caught five passes for 123 yards.
Guseman threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to Jaymison Robinson early in the fourth quarter. Robinson and Woodward both rushed for 63 yards. Guseman threw for 139 yards.
Ethan Varesko scored on a 62-yard run and added the two-point run in the fourth quarter for Beth-Center (1-1, 1-4). Varesko ran for 98 yards.
Carmichaels 27, Mapletown 8 — Will Murray ran for 172 yards, including a 52-yard touchdown, and added a 2-point conversion in the Mikes’ Tri-County South Conference victory over the visiting Maples.
AJ Donaldson scored rushing touchdowns of 3 and 19 yards for Carmichaels (1-1, 2-3), and finished with 85 yards rushing. He also completed 7-of-9 passes for 57 yards. Gavin Husenits booted the extra point after Donaldson’s second TD.
Parker Hewitt powered in from two yards to score for the Mikes in the third quarter.
Brock Evans scored on a 2-yard run in the third quarter for Mapletown (0-2, 2-3) with A.J. Vanata tossing a 2-point conversion pass to Jeremiah Mick.
