Duda’s farm has Immediate openings for seasonal roadside stand workers
Duda’s Farm has immediate openings for seasonal roadside stand workers. They are looking for dependable and motivated individuals who enjoy working outdoors and independently. They offer flexible schedules and employee discounts on items grown on the farm. Candidates must have good communication skills and enjoy working with people. A driver’s license is preferred, but not required. Farm will consider college or high school students, retirees, teachers or anyone looking for extra income this summer. Training sessions offered for workers 55 and older
Workers who are 55 and older in Fayette, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland counties are invited to attend three free trainings this summer as part of the Experienced Worker Advocacy Program. Funded by the Hillman Foundation, the classes are a partnership between Fayette County Community Action Agency and Westmoreland County Community College. All materials for each of the programs will be provided. Trainings include computer basics (June 7, 14, 21 and 24, and July 12); Microsoft Word basics (July 19 and 26); Microsoft Excel basics (Aug. 2 and 9). All classes are held at the Westmoreland County Community College’s Uniontown campus, 140 N. Amphitheater at Lions Club Park available for rent
The Samuel A. Milliken Amphitheater at Waynesburg Lions Club Park is available for rent. The amphitheater is perfect for weddings, festivals, ceremonies, theater productions, outdoor church services and more. Reservations are on a first-come, first-serve basis by calling 724-627-5284. In addition, the park also has other rental options, including the Jaycee, Scott and Moose pavilions and the Waynesburg Lions Club Community Building.
NTPA Mega Pulls event on Saturday
The 26th annual NTPA Mega Pulls event is scheduled for 7 p.m. June 8 at the Greene County Fairgrounds. Admission is $25 and there will be food vendors on-site. It will be an exciting day of truck and tractor pulls, ranging from diesel trucks and super stock trucks to modifieds and roaring tractors.
