Local roundup: DeHoet, Andrews, Blair earn track honors

Jefferson-Morgan’s Deakyn DeHoet and Waynesburg Central’s Zach Andrews were each named to the Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµ All-Area Track & Field Boys Team and the Lady Raiders’ Madison Blair was selected to the Girls Team for the 2025 season.

DeHoet, a junior, who was a member of Beth-Center’s team through a co-op, made the team as the area’s top performer in the 100-meter dash.

Andrews, a senior, was selected as the area’s best in the 300-meter hurdles.

Blair, a freshman, took top honors on the Girls Team in the pole vault.

Baseball

Carmichaels 11, Mill Run 0 — The Copperheads scored all their runs in the first inning and cruised to a victory over the Millers at Carmichaels Area High School in Fayette County Baseball League play on June 5.

Ethan Erhard earned the win on the mound after pitching three scoreless innings. The game ended in the fifth inning due to the 10-run rule. Erhard allowed one hit, struck out six and walked one. Gianni Cantini retired all six batters he faced, with four strikeouts, to finish the final two innings.

Carmichaels’ Alex VanSickle hit two doubles and drove in three runs. Teammate Santino Marra hit a two-run home run to center field. Dom Obiecunas doubled for the Copperheads (0-1).

Cade Warrick singled for Mill Run (0-2).
