Albert Gallatin remains undefeated
Three scores of 45 led Albert Gallatin to a 229-235, Section I, Division 2 win Wednesday at CedarbrookÄ¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Red Course.
Cullen Hoone, Brandon Sutton and Pat McDonough each carded 45 to lead the Colonials (2-0). Ben Kozzi shot a 46 and Charlie Depp added a 48.
Connor Cane and Jerrod Hancock paced the Rams (0-2) with scores of 44 and Chris Essex added a 45. Cameron Bartkus carded a 49 as Devin Dipiazzi shot 53.
Albert Gallatin hosts Mount Pleasant today at Duck Hollow in a 2 p.m. start.
Mount Pleasant 207, Laurel Highlands 218 — Laurel Highlands fell to .500, as Mount Pleasant remained undefeated in a match between Section I, Division 2 foes.
Andy Yoder led the Vikings (2-0) with a 40 on the par 36 course at Norvelt G.C. Brandon Springer added a 41 as Zach Heide, Andrew Raffensperger and Justin Dent each carded 42.
Harrison Laskey paced the Mustangs (1-1) with a 40 and Jeremy Guzy shot a 42. Rich David carded 43 as Nick Ezzi added a 44. Vincent Augostini shot 49.
Jefferson-Morgan 217, Brownsville 347 — Zach Berkstresser led the Rockets with a 39 at Greene County Country Club and Gillian Alexander shot a 41.
Alex Rush added a 42 while Brandon Faeita carded a 47 for the Rockets (1-0). Cameron Roberts added a 48.
Derek Lent and Matt Karrol led Brownsville with 65.
Frazier 218, Jeannette 226 – Tyler Rock shot a 37 to lead Frazier to a Section II, Division 2 win.
Robert Gondura carded a 39 while Andrea Lash and Hunter Clay added scores of 44. Josh Olbrys shot a 52 for the Commodores (1-0).
Matt Scherff led Jeannette (1-1, 0-1) with a 37. Cole Gnesda and Jeroen Wolfe each shot 46. Jordan Nalevanko carded a 47. Joe Gregory rounded out the scoring with a 50.
Girls tennis
Brownsville 3, Derry 2 — Brownsville opened the season with a win over Section 1-AA rival Derry.
Sarah Shasura won in singles over Felicia Pawlack in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. Derry took the other singles matches, as Breanna Liberoni beat Megan Yocabet in straight sets 6-1, 6-3 and Lauren Campbell downed Kayla Bayne, 4-6, 6-1, 7-5.
Peyton Ferguson and Ashtyn Guty beat Laura Kavalik and Rachel Henderson 7-6 (3), 6-4. Sara Yuhas and Angie Becker won the swing match over Tessa Hriczik and Jill Orazio, 1-6, 6-4, 6-2.
Brownsville travels to Greensburg Salem Friday.
