Fayette County 4-H plans annual auction for July 29
The Fayette County 4-H will hold its sixth annual youth benefit auction at 6?p.m. July 29 at the 2011 Fayette County Fair in the 4-H Youth Building. Volunteers are working hard to secure auction items from various local establishments such as AllenĢƵ Haunted Hayride, Jackson Farms, Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and Seven Springs.
Pittsburgh attractions such as Kennywood, Pittsburgh Pirates and the Pittsburgh Steelers are also being contacted for donations.
Last yearĢƵ auction raised more than $11,000. “We were proud to be able to offer 10 scholarships to Fayette County 4-H youth attending a higher institution of learning. In addition, the proceeds from this event benefit the Fayette County 4-H /Youth Development Program. This program includes over 1,500 members from traditional, school enrichment, and after school programs, and more than 80 volunteers in Fayette County,” said Cathy Brady, 4-H/Youth Extension adviser.
