Brownsville woman charged in assault
A Brownsville woman is facing multiple charges after police allege she assaulted a probation officer in Uniontown on Monday.
Mary Jo Smith, 44, of 434 Snowden Terr., was charged with resisting arrest, aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct following the incident at the Fayette County 911 building.
Uniontown police Officer Jennifer Field said Smith had reported to the 911 building to speak with a probation officer and that upon learning that she was going to be taken into custody for violating the terms of her probation, became combative.
