A convicted felon is behind bars after police allege he put a gun in a woman’s mouth and attempted to order her to perform a sex act on him while the woman’s 3-year-old daughter was present.

Roger Allen Angelo, 36, of 572 Leckrone-Highhouse Road was charged with aggravated assault, illegal possession of a firearm, endangering the welfare of children and drug violations.

State police Trooper Jared Johnson said the charges were filed after Angelo put a 9mm handgun in the woman’s mouth and ordered her to perform oral sex on him. Johnson said that the woman’s young daughter was in the room at the time.

The incident occurred at Angelo’s home in German Township in mid-November, police said.

When officers conducted a search of the residence, they discovered the gun, loaded and hidden in a sofa, according to police. Johnson said police also found a high-capacity ammunition magazine, a digital scale, a hypodermic needle and a marijuana pipe.

Johnson noted that Angelo is not legally permitted to possess a firearm because he is on state parole for an attempted robbery conviction in 2003.

Fayette County Children and Youth Services and state parole agent Derek Eberhart assisted in the investigation.

Angelo was placed in Fayette County Prison on $50,000 straight cash bond following his arraignment.

He will face a preliminary hearing at a later date before Magisterial District Judge Randy S. Abraham.
