Fayette County Republican Committee hosts picnic
The Fayette County Republican Committee is hosting a picnic at 1 p.m. July 14 at the Uniontown Sons of Italy.
“The picnic promises to be a time of fellowship, good eating and fun,” said Fayette County Committee Chairman Russ Rhodes.
Activities include a DJ and grill-fired food. An opportunity for visitors to voice their opinions about current political events will be provided during an “open microphone” session. A staffed voter registration booth will enable community members to re-identify with the Republican Party in Fayette County.
“Ticket sales are brisk, and people are looking to an alternative to the liberal agenda being pushed by the president and the Democratic-led U.S. Senate,” said Roberto Smith, who coordinated the picnic with Matt Thomas.
“Our country is in it’s fifth year of a failed agenda by President Obama. We still have big issues such as the national debt, budget shortfalls, immigration and heath care. More people are realizing that conservative policies can work if given a chance,” Thomas said. “This picnic is an opportunity for like-minded individuals to gather and energize the Republican base.”
Tickets include admission, food and drinks and all activities and can be purchased for $10 through a committee member or by calling 724-963-2663.
