Uniontown man charged in assault
A Uniontown man is facing multiple charges after police allege he broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home and beat a man he encountered inside earlier this month.
Christopher Andrew Johnson, 31, was charged with burglary, criminal trespassing, terroristic threats, corruption of minors, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and harassment.
State police Trooper Brett Massafra said the incident occurred at 6:30 a.m. July 6 when Johnson spotted a vehicle outside of his ex-girlfriend’s home at 16 Taft St., North Union Township. Police did not release the woman’s identity.
Massafra said Johnson proceeded to the front of the home where he kicked in the front door and then began to beat a man he found inside the residence.
Massafra said Johnson struck the man, whom police did not identify, with a lamp and a vase before the man fled the house by jumping out of a window.
Johnson was placed in Fayette County Prison on $15,000 straight cash bond following his arraignment.
He will face a preliminary hearing at a later date before Dennis.
