The correct date for trick-or-treat in Franklin Township, Fayette County, is 4-7 p.m. Oct. 31.

Brownsville Councilman James S. Lawver, who is running for borough mayor, served as a part-time police officer for the borough from 1984-1989 and remained on the list for scheduling until 1992. Borough records show he was reinstated as a part-time police officer in 2005 and worked until he retired in 2010.
