Eric Amber ran as a write-in candidate for California Area School Board in Region 1, which includes California Borough. Incumbents Jennifer Weld and Barry Niccolai appeared on the ballot as well and captured the two Democratic nominations. Amber received one of the two Republican nominations, and his name will appear on the November ballot. Weld has resigned from the board and Amber was appointed to fill the remainder of her term, which ends in December.
