Teen assaulted in Uniontown
Uniontown police said charges are pending against a Uniontown teenager after another teen reported being assaulted Tuesday afternoon.
Officer Michael Bittner said the incident occurred shortly before 6 p.m. when a 17-year-old girl and Megan Bowlen, 20, of Fairchance, were walking in an alley between Connellsville and Winona streets when a vehicle pulled up and two teen girls jumped out and began to assault the 17-year-old.
Bittner said that the suspects repeatedly punched and kicked the teen before fleeing the area.
When the vehicle first pulled up to the pair, Bowen told police that the mirror of the vehicle struck her in the shoulder.
She also told police that she tried to pull the alleged attackers from the teen but was unable to do so.
Bittner said officers found the teen bleeding from the face, and she was subsequently taken to Uniontown Hospital for treatment.
He said that both the teen and Bowlen were able to give detailed descriptions of the vehicle and the clothing worn by the suspects, and police later identified one of the suspects in Pershing Court.
Bittner said the suspect, also a 17-year-old girl, will face assault and related charges in Fayette County Juvenile Court.
