An Associated Press article published Sunday about the state Department of Environmental Protection saying FirstEnergy Corp. of Akron-Ohio must close a coal-waste dump along the Pennsylvania-West Virginia border by 2028 contained incorrect information. DEP spokesman John Poister said a permit has not been issued to ship slurry by barge from the Bruce Mansfield power plant in Shippingport, Beaver County, to a mine reclamation site in LaBelle.
