Bomb threat made at South Union Walmart
Two teenage juveniles were taken into custody after a bomb threat was called in to the South Union Township Walmart store at about 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, according to Pennsylvania state police.
The business was evacuated, but no bombs were found and all units cleared the scene after about three hours, according to state police. Walmart was reopened and employees returned to their duties.
One man was taken into custody about one hour into the investigation. State police led him in handcuffs from the main entrance of the store into a state police vehicle. Police did not release information on the arrest.
Walmart spokeswoman Betsy Harden said the threat was made by a phone call into the store. Police were immediately notified.
About 50 employees were huddled in a corner of the parking lot. Some were directed to move their vehicles.
A steady stream of people attempted to drive into the store parking lot. They were turned away by police and Walmart managers, who told them the store would reopen in several hours. Police vehicles blocked each entrance to the storeÄ¢¹½ÊÓƵ parking lot.
State police, Brownsville, Masontown and Uniontown police departments were on the scene. A Uniontown bomb dog was in the store Wednesday evening.
