Police: Threats at Connellsville high school unfounded
Connellsville Area School District security investigated reports of a threat Thursday morning, and found it was only a prank.
“The safety of the students and staff are of the utmost importance,” said security director and police Chief Michael Parlak. “Anything of this nature, we try to investigate as thoroughly as possible.”
He said he received news of the threats through social media, and found two students were involved.
Discipline will be handled through the school, he said. No criminal charges will be made.
He said that at no time were any students or staff members in danger, and there were never any weapons on school grounds.
Parents were notified by telephone about the investigation and its findings.
The school operated under its regular schedule.
