Woman arrested after alleged road rage in Uniontown
A Uniontown woman was arrested for allegedly chasing a man with a gun and hitting him with her cellphone during a road rage incident Friday night.
Lindsey Marie Diehl, 32, is charged with simple assault and reckless endangerment.
Jesse Blackburn told police he was turning left onto Berkeley Street from Morgantown Street and “flipped” her off, according to the affidavit of probable cause.
Police said she drove in front of him until he turned onto Union Street, where he lives. She allegedly turned back around and pulled up next to Blackburn.
The two had a brief argument, and Diehl “told him she was not leaving until he apologized,” police said.
He said he was going inside his house and Diehl allegedly pointed a .380-caliber handgun at him. He ran behind her vehicle for cover, police said.
She allegedly drove a short distance, got out of the vehicle and hit Blackburn with her cell phone. Police said he stayed on the line with 911 and escaped.
Police allegedly found two firearms in the vehicle registered to Diehl. One matched the description of the gun Blackburn gave police.
“Diehl gave several versions of what happened and denied pointing the gun at Blackburn but did say she left it on her lap,” police said.
She is free on a $7,500 unsecured bond.
