Jeffrey Merryman Applause
Robert Dub茅, fire chief of the Alexandria, Virginia, Fire Department recently announced the promotion of Uniontown native Jeffrey Merryman to assistant fire chief.
Merryman is a 30-year veteran of the Alexandria Fire Department who began his fire service career in 1981 as a volunteer with the Uniontown Volunteer Fire Department-Keystone Company.
Alexandria Fire Department operates with two assistant fire chiefs, both of whom serve and report directly to the fire chief. Merryman has been assigned to command the Operations Division, which consists of fire operations, emergency medical services operations and the training/ professional development.
Prior to his recent promotion, Merryman served as the deputy fire chief of health, safety and risk management.
Merryman is the son of Sue Merryman and the late Robert Merryman of Uniontown. He is married to the former Paula Plisko, and they make their residence in Winchester, Virginia.
