Hiller teen charged with stabbing man over $10
A 17-year-old girl was charged as an adult after she allegedly stabbed her mother’s boyfriend over $10 early Sunday.
Michael Cox, 49, told police that Joei Nicole Marfinetz of Hiller was “acting up” during an argument about the money. He said the argument turned physical when she grabbed a steak knife at about 2 a.m. and stabbed him in the right arm, according to court documents.
Fayette EMS treated Cox on the scene at the Luzerne Terrrace residence for a laceration to his arm, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed in the case.
Marfinetz’ mother, Maryann Spohn, 54, told police her daughter hit her multiple times in the face. Police said she did not have visible injuries.
State police discussed the case with the Fayette County Juvenile Probation Office and the Office of the Fayette County district attorney. Both agencies reported that a juvenile over the age of 15 facing aggravated assault charges should be charged as an adult.
Marfinetz is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and reckless endangerment.
She is free on a $25,000 unsecured bond.
