Arrest made in Brownsville drug robbery
A Grindstone man was arrested this week for allegedly robbing Brownsville Family Pharmacy in October.
Andrew Scott Stayrook, 36, allegedly walked into the Market Street pharmacy on the afternoon of Oct. 31 and demanded prescription medications by handing a handwritten note to an employee claiming he had a gun, police said.
The note said workers had “one minute to comply and no one would get hurt,” according to the affidavit of probable cause filed in his case.
He was given four pill bottles containing hydrocodone, Xanax and oxycodone with a total value of $600, police said.
He is charged with robbery, terroristic threats, retail theft, possession of a controlled substance, theft, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.
Stayrook was arraigned Wednesday and lodged in Fayette County Prison in lieu of a $50,000 bond.
Police said he was charged twice in the past for retail theft.
