Man run over with truck in Uniontown
Police are investigating an injured pedestrian call as an assault after a witness relayed what he saw on Main Street in Uniontown early Sunday.
Uniontown City Police Department responded at about 12:45 a.m. to find a man, later identified as Jermaine Darnell, 35, lying in the street with head trauma.
He was treated on the scene and flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening, police said.
Police said there were no signs of braking leading up to the collision location in front of 395 East Main Street.
The 911 caller told police he saw two men assaulting another man and stomping him when he was on the ground.
He said he saw an older, dark-colored pickup truck run over the man without stopping. The man also said he saw a cream-colored Lincoln pull off the road about 30 feet away.
The witness told police the men were black. He said one was heavyset, wearing a white shirt and possibly blue jeans. The other was thin with a dark hoodie.
Uniontown police and state police are looking for both vehicles.
