A Brownsville man was arrested in Uniontown Monday after he allegedly fled from a traffic stop in a vehicle stolen from North Carolina.

Tremayne Jerel Spillman, 29, was allegedly driving with an expired registration sticker when police attempted to stop him on Morgantown Street at the shopping plaza just after 4 p.m.

Police said he fled the traffic stop, driving north on Morgantown Street to Albion Street, where he allegedly stopped and fled on foot.

Troopers pursued Spillman on foot and arrested him on Judith Street near Emerson Street, they said.

Police said he had active state parole warrants in Pennsylvania and the vehicle.

He was charged with receiving stolen property, resisting arrest, fleeing or attempting to elude officer and two counts of reckless endangerment.

He is lodged in Fayette County Prison in lieu of a $35,000 bond.
