By The 2 min read

A Uniontown man was charged Wednesday after accusations that he inappropriately touched two young girls.

Sylvester Kline Conaway Jr., 46, is facing felony charges in two separate cases filed by state police.

Conaway was identified as a suspect after complaints were called into ChildLine, an anonymous child abuse tip line. The girls were interviewed April 16 at A Child’s Place in Washington, Pennsylvania, according to the affidavit of probable cause.

One girl said that when she was 6 or 7 years old during the summer of 2007, she was asleep on his couch when she allegedly woke up to find him on top of her. She said he touched her inappropriately and called her a “whiner” after she screamed and cried, according to court documents.

The second alleged victim reported Conaway touched her inappropriately for about 12 years, starting when she was about 5 years old and ending when she turned 18.

According to the affidavit, she took sleeping pills and he would allegedly touch her while she was sleeping. She said that if she woke up, he would leave, according to the affidavit. Some of the acts caused her pain, she said.

Conaway is charged with corruption of minors and three counts of indecent assault in the first case. He is charged with endangering the welfare of children, corruption of minors and four counts each of aggravated indecent assault and indecent assault in the second case.
