n Caring Corner Grief Support Program for families and children, 6-8 p.m. every Monday, East End United Community Center, Uniontown. Information: 724-437-1660.

nSurvivors of Incest Anonymous meeting, 6:30-8 p.m. first and third Monday of the month (except for holidays), Mount Macrina Retreat Center, Uniontown. The group is a 12-step recovery program for women and men, age 18 or older, who were sexually abused by a trusted person as a child. Information: peopleofcourage@gmail.com or siawso.org.

n Silver Generation Support Program, 10 a.m. to noon every Wednesday, East End United Community Center. The program is for adults ages 55 and older. Information: 724-437-1660.

n Al-Anon Family Groups, 8 p.m. Wednesdays, Trinity Church basement, Fayette and Morgantown streets, Uniontown, and 7:30 p.m. Fridays, Christian Church, Pittsburgh Street, Connellsville. n Celebrate Recovery meetings 6:30 p.m. Thursdays, Abundant Life Church, 1239 Brownfield Road, Uniontown. The program is based on biblical principles with the purpose of letting God restore the mental, physical and emotional.

n Suicide bereavement support group, 6-8 p.m. Sept. 26, Anthony M. Lombardi Education Conference Center, Monongahela Valley Hospital. The program is led by a licensed psychologist and is open to those touched by suicide. Registration: 724-258-1144.

n Stroke support group, 1-2:30 p.m. Sept. 29, Anthony M. Lombardi Education Conference Center, Monongahela Valley Hospital. The group is for patients and caregivers to share about the struggles of stroke and the after-effects. Information: 724-258-1455.

n Violent crime parent/family support group, initiated by The Crime Victims’ Center starting in September at the Crime Victims’ Center conference room located at Oliver Square Plaza off Route 51 in Uniontown. The group is for parents/families who have lost a child due to a violent crime (homicides, DUI crashes and others). Topics will include discussing the grief process, denial, anger, guilt, fear and sharing ideas. The group will include guest speakers discussing the legal/court system, a family therapist to discuss tools to keep the family together and difficulties that may arise between a husband and wife. Events

n Fayette County Heart Walk, 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, Storey Square Downtown Uniontown. The event, to benefit the American Heart Association, will feature heat healthy activities, walk, entertainment and more. For more information or to participate: 614-396-3471 or heart.org/fayettewalk.

n California University of Pennsylvania’s 29th annual health fair, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Convocation Center on campus. The free event will feature over 40 health care industry representatives that will address health and wellness topics such as diabetes, smoking cessation, orthopedics, healthy eating and more. There will also be a blood drive by the Central Blood Bank, and Rite-Aid pharmacy staff will administer flu shots. Information: fayish@calu.edu.

n Multiphasic blood analysis, 7-10 a.m. Saturday, Anthony M. Lombardi Education Conference Center, Monongahela Valley Hospital. The 37-function screening is $25 and open to the public. n Mon Valley YMCA Zumbathon, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Oct. 7, the gymnasium at the Mon Valley YMCA. Cost to participate is $10 and benefits the MVH/Lois Orange Ducoeur Breast Cancer Walk. n Monongahela Valley Hospital/Lois Orange Ducoeur Breast Cancer Walk, 10 a.m. Oct. 8, starting at the Market House. Walkers are asked to make a minimum donation of $10. The superhero themed event will raise funds for breast cancer awareness. Information: 724-258-1855.
