Man killed in crash near Point Marion Sunday identified

A West Virginia man died Sunday when he lost control of his motorcycle on Morgantown Road in Springhill Township, state police said.

Charles Robert Pinkerton, 37, of Morgantown was thrown from his Harley Davidson 883 CC Sportster, police said, and hit a car driving by Patricia Stewart, 56, of Point Marion.

Police said Pinkerton was traveling north on Morgantown Road and Stewart was traveling southbound. Pinkerton was pronounced dead at the scene, and police did not indicate if Stewart was injured in the crash, which occurred around 7:20 p.m.
