Firefighters rescued a man in North Union Township Saturday night who became stuck in a tree after attempting to retrieve a drone.

A flying mishap sent the drone to a tree limb, and the man climbed about 25 feet to try to reach the drone before becoming stuck in the tree outside a residence at 692 Coolspring Street just after 8 p.m., according to North Union Township fire department Chief Bob Clark.

The drone was hanging on the edge of a limb about 10 feet away, he said.

“As a matter of fact, it’s still stuck,” he said.

The man was rescued without incident. No injuries were reported.

“He came out clean,” Clark said.

Leisenring fire department and Fayette EMS assisted at the scene.
