Local volunteer firefighter charged with possession of child pornography
A Luzerne Township volunteer firefighter was arrested Tuesday and charged with possession of child pornography.
Erik Alan Eagle, 22, of East Millsboro, is facing 10 counts each of disseminating photo or film of child sex acts, child pornography and criminal use of a communication facility.
Investigators with the state police Bureau of Criminal Investigation allegedly found videos depicting a boy who was about 11 to 13 years old engaged in a sex act, and a girl about 6 to 8 years old engaged in a sex act, according to the affidavit of probable cause filed in his case.
Eagle was interviewed in January, and allegedly admitted to possessing child pornography. He told police he viewed the pornography on both his laptop and cellphone. He estimated that he has about 2,000 images of child pornography, according to court documents.
He told investigators he is aroused by images of both boys and girls ages 7 to 14.
“He admitted that what he is doing is wrong,” Trooper Matthew Haslett wrote in the affidavit.
Magisterial District Judge Mike Defino Jr. arraigned Eagle Tuesday on a $35,000 bond.
His preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for 1:30 p.m. May 15 before Defino.
Eagle is lodged in Fayette County Prison in lieu of bond.
