By The 1 min read

A woman suffered a head injury after she was hit by a car on South Mount Vernon Avenue at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, Uniontown police said.

Christie Freeman was flown by medical helicopter to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia, with a large contusion to her head, bruising to her stomach and brush burns to her feet and forearms.

A witness told police he woke up after hearing her scream, but she ran away when he tried to help. Another witness claimed Freeman jumped in front of his vehicle.

Freeman told police she was struck by a black vehicle, which then fled the scene.
