Bicyclist killed in Dunbar Township crash

By The 1 min read

A North Carolina bicyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle in Dunbar Township early Friday.

Officials identified the victim as Brett Warner, 27, of Burlington, North Carolina. The driver was a 25-year-old McClellandtown man.

State police remained on the scene early Friday, with portions of Route 119 near Bell Drive headed toward the city of Connellsville closed, officials said.

The accident happened around 3:30 a.m. when the bicyclist was riding north on Morrell Avenue in the center of the roadway. The driver could not see him because he was riding without lighting or reflective clothing, state police said.

Authorities said that the man may have been pushing or riding the bicycle when he was hit, and were trying to determine if a second vehicle may have also struck him.

State police are continuing their investigation.
