Charleroi man charged with beating woman with beer bottle
A Charleroi man allegedly beat a woman with a beer bottle during an argument about bruises on their daughter.
Charles Geoffrey Douglas, 24, allegedly hit SuAnne Rankin in the head with a beer bottle about 10 times at a Hiller residence July 4.
State police arrived to find Rankin sitting on the front lawn with two of her friends holding a towel against the back of her head.
Police said she had “severe bleeding” to her head and a laceration that required staples.
Douglas fled the scene after the alleged altercation. Police found a beer bottle in the yard with blood on it, court documents said.
He is charged with aggravated assault and simple assault in the case.
