Two state police troopers shot in Fairchance Friday evening
Two state police troopers were shot in Fairchance Friday evening, according to a state police spokeswoman.
Trooper Melinda Bondarenka said one of the troopers was flown from the scene, and the other transported to a local hospital. She said both are in stable condition.
She did not reveal additional details about what occurred, but said police would release more details tomorrow.
A emergency dispatcher reported that the shooting occurred around 9 p.m. Police as well as the Fayette County coroner remained on the scene near West Church Street in the borough late into the night.
State police Lt. Steve Dowlin said the scene of the shooting is secure and there is no danger to the community.聽
