Uniontown woman waives attempted homicide charge
A Uniontown woman who was representing herself in an attempted homicide case waived her charges to the Fayette County Court of Common Pleas on Tuesday.
Shirale Harris, 22, allegedly ran down her neighbor with a vehicle Feb. 9.
Police said the alleged victim, Margrett Mitchell, suffered a sprained wrist, injured knee and closed head injury. Mitchell told police she will require rehabilitative treatment.
Harris requested a continuance of her case from Magisterial District Judge Michael Metros so she could secure a new attorney. That request was denied.
Harris allegedly spotted the woman from her Chevrolet Sonic and said she was going to hit her, then drove the car toward Mitchell, hitting her and causing her to roll onto the hood. She then allegedly backed up and tried to hit her a second time.
Trevor Borum, who was walking with Mitchell, told police he feared for his life.
Harris is also facing four counts of aggravated assault, two counts each of simple assault and recklessly endangering another person, and one count of accidents involving personal injury.
She is free on a $50,000 unsecured bond.
