Busted water pipe causes closure of Monessen Child Learning Center
The Child Learning Center at Southwestern Pennsylvania Human Services in Monessen was shut down Monday after employees found a busted water pipe.
“We didn’t discover it until we opened at 6:30 this morning,” Chief Operating Officer Luther Sheets said.
The center operates out of Eastgate Plaza.
Sheets said an inventory is being conducted to see what damage there was to toys and other supplies there.
“Everything is wet,” Sheets said.
It was not known late this morning if the closure would continue past today, and聽no other SPHS services were affected.
“We will have no idea until the professionals go in there,” Sheets said.
While there has been heavy rain off and on through the weekend, Westmoreland County Public Safety supervisors had no reports of street or basement flooding in the Monessen area.
