Rev. Robert Washko Applause
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Greensburg announces the Rev. Robert M. Washko is celebrating the 40th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood.
Born in Uniontown, his home parish was St. Mary (Nativity). He attended Borromeo Seminary College, Wickliffe, Ohio, and St. Mary Graduate Theology Seminary, Cleveland.
Washko was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Cleveland June 11, 1977, at St. John Cathedral, Cleveland, by Bishop James A. Hickey.
He was incardinated in the Diocese of Greensburg, Jan. 24, 1992. His pastoral appointments included: parochial vicar of four parishes in the Diocese of Cleveland and chaplain to the Sisters of Notre Dame, Chardon, Ohio; parochial vicar, Holy Family Parish, Latrobe, 1988-91 and The Epiphany of Our Lord Parish, Monessen, 1991-94; pastor, former Transfiguration Parish, Mount Pleasant, 1994-2000, St. Joseph Parish, Everson, 2000-08, and Holy Family Parish, Seward, 2008-present.
Greensburg Bishop Edward C. Malesic celebrated a special Mass for priests celebrating jubilee anniversaries of ordination June 1 at the Bishop Connare Center in Greensburg.
