The Roman Catholic Diocese of Greensburg announces the Rev. Joseph E. Bonafed is celebrating the 25th anniversary of his ordination.

Born in Monessen, his home parish was the former St. Cajetan Parish (now The Epiphany of Our Lord Parish). He attended California University of Pennsylvania and Saint Vincent Seminary, Latrobe.

Bonafed was ordained to the priesthood May 16, 1992, at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg, by Bishop Anthony G. Bosco.

His pastoral appointments have been: parochial vicar, Immaculate Conception Parish, Irwin, 1992-95, St. Therese, Little Flower of Jesus Parish, Uniontown, 1995-98 and St. Barbara Parish, Harrison City, 2005-07; administrator pro tem, former St. Catherine and Assumption parishes, Leechburg, 1998-99; co-pastor, 1999-2000 and pastor, 2000-03, Christ the King Parish, Leechburg; pastor, St. Patrick Parish, BradyÄ¢¹½ÊÓÆµ Bend, and administrator, former St. Mary, Our Lady of Snows Parish, Parker, 2007-09; pastor, Immaculate Conception Parish, Connellsville, and administrator, St. John the Evangelist Parish and St. Rita Parish, Connellsville, 2009-12; and pastor, St. John Baptist de La Salle Parish, Delmont, and administrator, St. Mary, Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Export, 2012-present.

His diocesan appointments have been: Priestly Life and Ministry Committee; formation policy board for permanent diaconate; regional moderator, Region VI; and Diocesan Pastoral Council.

Greensburg Bishop Edward C. Malesic celebrated a special Mass for priests celebrating jubilee anniversaries of ordination June 1 at the Bishop Connare Center in Greensburg.
