A Washington County jury has found a Belle Vernon man not guilty of homicide-by-vehicle and involuntary manslaughter charges in a Jan. 3, 2015, crash in Somerset Township that claimed the life of a Monongahela woman.

A truck driven by Tyler B. Belford, 36, crashed into a car driven by Christopher Weber, 47, of Charleroi at the intersection of Brownlee Road and Route 136, injuring Weber and Donna P. Simboli, 58, who later died of her injuries.

However, Common Pleas Judge Michael J. Lucas found Belford, 36, guilty of summary counts of careless driving, of driving at an unsafe speed and of failure to observe a stop sign at the intersection, while acquitting him of a summary count of reckless driving.

Belford was assessed $611 in fines, fees and costs.
