A Uniontown teen who was arrested for allegedly firing a gun early Saturday broke out of the German Township police cruiser and escaped, only to return 15 minutes later, police said.

Brandi Jordan Walker, 18, of Uniontown is charged with aggravated assault, criminal attempt to commit aggravated assault, theft of lost property, escape, possession of an instrument of crime with intent, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and prohibited possession of a firearm.

German Township police encountered Walker at about 2:30 a.m. standing in the road by Footedale Mini Mart while responding to a report of shots fired on Water Street. Police said she had a bloody nose, and reported she was punched and fired a gun in self defense, according to the affidavit of probable cause filed in her case.

She initially told police she fired the gun once, then said she fired it three times in the air. Walker told police there were six people in the house, according to court documents.

Police found the weapon, which was a .38-caliber Taurus she allegedly took from a friend. Only one empty shell case was found, police said.

She was arraigned Saturday afternoon before on-call Magisterial District Judge Richard Kasunic II and lodged in Fayette County Prison in lieu of a $35,000 bond.
