Uniontown man found with drugs, stolen gun
A Uniontown man was arrested during a traffic stop in South Union Township after police said he was found with drugs and a stolen weapon with a juvenile girl in the vehicle.
Jamar R. Harris Jr., 23, of Evans Street is charged with possession with intent to deliver, receiving stolen property, firearms not to be carried without a license, possession of marijuana, three counts of possession of a controlled substance and five counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
State police pulled over Harris’ vehicle at the intersection of Clarendon and Lebanon avenues at about 3 a.m. Friday for driving with a burned out headlight. Police said Harris had a bag sticking out of his pocket containing marijuana and a white powdery substance.
Police searched the vehicle and said they found hundreds of empty stamp bags, three pills and a fully loaded .40-caliber pistol in a floral bag. Police said the gun was reported stolen. Harris told police everything in the bag belonged to him, according to court documents.
Harris is lodged in Fayette County Prison in lieu of a $100,000 bond set by Magisterial District Judge Jennifer Jeffries.
