Dog dies in North Union Township trailer fire that displaced three

Three people were displaced and a dog died in a North Union Township trailer fire Wednesday morning, officials said.

The trailer at 459 Jefferson Street was destroyed in the fire that started at about 7 a.m., according to North Union Volunteer Fire Dept. Chief Bob Clark.

“ItĢƵ gone,” he said.

Fire officials said it appeared the fire started on the porch. A woman in the trailer discovered the fire and called 911.

“The lady opened up the door, and the porch was on fire,” said Dunbar Volunteer Fire Dept. firefighter Tyler Eddy.

No injuries were reported.

“EveryoneĢƵ out,” Eddy said. “They’re good.”

Five fire crews were called to battle the fire.

Dunbar, North Union Township, Hopwood, Morrell and West Leisenring fire departments responded to the scene, according to a Fayette County 911 supervisor.

A state police fire marshal was called to determine the official cause of the fire.
