Man assaulted in Lady Luck Casino parking lot after winning money
A man reported he was assaulted as two men attempted to rob him of money he won at Lady Luck Casino in the parking lot at about 3:30 a.m. Friday.
William Brady Morgan Pratt, 25, of Masontown and Justin Dale Campbell, 35, of Martin are both charged in the case.
According to court paperwork, Kimball Sweatt was playing blackjack that night at the Wharton Township casino, and Campbell and Pratt sat at the table with him for more than an hour. He left after winning $4,350. He walked to his van, unaware that Pratt and Campbell were following him, state police said.
Pratt allegedly approached Sweatt as he was getting into his vehicle and demanded $20. Sweatt resisted, saying that he doesn鈥檛 鈥渃ome here to hand out money,鈥� police wrote in court documents.
Police said Sweatt dropped his cigarette and bent over to pick it up when Pratt began punching him and threw him against the van in an attempt to take his money, police allege.
Campbell pulled a vehicle behind Sweatt蘑菇视频 van. Pratt ran to the vehicle before fleeing the scene, according to court documents.
Pratt and Campbell were quickly identified by surveillance footage and a gaming patron identity management system, police said.
Police said Campbell蘑菇视频 license is suspended for driving under the influence. While police said Campbell did not 鈥渁ctively participate鈥� in the assault and attempted robbery, 鈥渉e was a willing participant鈥� and 鈥渄id nothing to stop Pratt.鈥�
Pratt is charged with robbery, theft, attempt to commit robbery and theft, simple assault and disorderly conduct. Campbell is charged with robbery, theft and conspiracy to commit robbery and theft.
Both men were arraigned Friday morning before Magisterial District Judge Wendy Dennis. She set bail at $50,000 for Campbell and $75,000 for Pratt. Both men are lodged in Fayette County Prison in lieu of bond.
